🌸 The Gardens at Alderbrook
Where golf and gardens grow together on Oregon’s coast.
The Gardens at Alderbrook offer a one-of-a-kind blend of destination golf and botanical beauty. Each hole is named after a unique flower, tree, or plant featured in or around the course, creating a living landscape that changes with the seasons. As you play, you’ll discover dozens of other species thoughtfully planted throughout the fairways and greens—each chosen to thrive in the coastal climate and complement the natural setting.
Celebrating its 100th anniversary, the course was saved from development in 2023 through our commitment to preservation and renewal. Our vision is to create a botanical golf experience that honors the rich plant life native to Oregon’s coast while showcasing imported flowering species that flourish here. Some of these trees and shrubs have grown on the property for more than a century, while others have been carefully curated over the past 30 years by garden designer Patrick Zweifel, founder of Oregon Coastal Flowers and the Hydrangea Ranch.
The Gardens are now home to an ever-expanding collection of hydrangeas, flowering dogwoods, and tulip magnolias—signature species that define the region’s natural beauty.
As the garden grows, visitors will soon enjoy an interactive map highlighting each plant species, along with botanical signage detailing both common and scientific names. For now, The Gardens at Alderbrook serve as a living backdrop to the golfing experience.
