The Hole Story
Hole 9: This slightly uphill, dogleg-left par 5 rewards smart positioning over raw power. The tee shot demands precision, with bunkers lining the left side of the fairway and a stand of trees guarding the right, creating a narrow corridor for the drive.
A well-placed second shot is essential to set up a clear angle into the small, elevated green. The front-left bunker protects the putting surface and makes distance control critical on the approach.
Strategic play—favoring accuracy, placement, and restraint—will yield the best scoring opportunity to close out the front nine.
Naming the Hole

Snowball Viburnum
(Viburnum opulus ‘Roseum’)
The Snowball Viburnum, also known as the European Cranberrybush, is a timeless favorite that delivers one of the most memorable spring displays on the course. This deciduous shrub is celebrated for its large, globe-shaped clusters of pure white blooms, which resemble oversized snowballs and cover the plant in abundance each spring.
The blossoms open a soft green-white before maturing to bright white, eventually taking on a delicate pink blush as they age. While this variety does not produce fruit, it more than compensates with its striking reddish-orange fall foliage and full, rounded form that brings structure and seasonal interest to the landscape.
You’ll find these Snowball Viburnums planted to the southeast of the Hole 9 tee boxes, where their graceful blooms provide a bright, classic frame for the opening drive of this uphill par 5.
