The Hole Story
Hole 2: Tee shot placement is everything on this strategic par hole. Trees guard the right side while a meandering creek runs along the left, demanding precision from the tee. A drive positioned near the center of the fairway provides the best angle for the approach.
The creek crosses the fairway roughly 50 yards short of the green, bringing the decision to lay up or go for it firmly into play. Approaches must be struck with care—a bunker protects the front-left, and any shot left short will leave a difficult up-and-down to save par. Accuracy and smart course management are rewarded here.
Naming the Hole

Named for the Double Lavender Hydrangea, also known as the Forever & Ever Together Hydrangea, this hole celebrates one of the Oregon Coast’s most vibrant and enduring blooms. A hortensia macrophylla variety, it flourishes in the cool, misty coastal air—its lush, rounded blossoms shifting in color with the soil beneath them. In acidic ground, the petals glow soft lavender; in more basic soil, they blush rosy pink. As the season matures, the flowers antique into jewel tones, deepening into brilliant burgundy by fall.
Along the right side of the middle fairway, a graceful row of these hydrangeas frames the path to the green. Their colors mark the rhythm of the seasons and the beauty of the coast—reminding every player that nature, like golf, changes hue with time, patience, and care.
