RAIN CHECKS

Inclement weather is a normal occurrence on the Oregon Coast. No refunds or rain checks will be given for rain, wind, cold temperatures, or other normal weather events. Exceptions may be permitted if the weather becomes dangerous such as lightning, or hazardous such as poor air quality.

A rain check will not be given for playing fewer holes than paid.  For example, a golfer pays for 18 holes but plays less for reasons other than dangerous playing conditions.

CHECKING-IN

All golfers are required to check in at least fifteen minutes prior to the assigned tee time. This helps ensure that proper attire is worn and that all golfers in the group are paid and accounted for in the tee sheet. Any group not on the tee and ready to play on time will lose its tee time. The Pro Shop and Starter have the authority to maintain order on the course. This includes both members and the public.

Singles and Twosomes should not expect to play through foursomes and should not exert any pressure on the groups ahead.

All players must have their own bag and set of clubs. Need to rent clubs? Ask for details at the Pro Shop, or call (971) 289-4653 to reserve equipment in advance.

All play is to begin on the #1 tee unless instructed otherwise by pro shop personnel or starter.

If you are late or have fewer than the original reserved number of players you are subject to loss of tee time and placement on the standby list. Groups may avoid displacement by paying for the balance of the reserved group in advance.

GOLF CART POLICY

PUBLIC

Electric golf carts may be reserved in advance during the reservation. To operate an electric golf cart, golfers must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver’s license. Ride-a-longs are permitted for an additional fee based on golf cart availability (at the Pro Shop’s sole discretion). Golf carts are for the use of golfers only and are not to be taken off the golf course property for any reason. A reservation does not guarantee the availability of a cart but the course will do its best to ensure carts are available.

Golf Carts: If you choose to ride alone and do not want anyone else to ride with you, you will be charged the full cart fee of $44.

Examples:

  • If you are willing to ride with another person but no one in your group is riding, you will not be charged the full cart rate.
  • If you are playing with a foursome and there are only 3 players riding, the single rider would not be charged the full cart rate.
  • If there are 2 players riding in a group and they do not wish to ride with each other, both players will be charged the full cart rate.

MEMBERS

Cart membership does not entitle the member to a single-rider cart. Upon the direction of the ProShop staff, members must share carts during busy seasons allowing The Mook to provide carts to other golfers.  Cart membership pays for a seat in a cart and not the whole cart.

PRIVATE GOLF CARTS

Private golf carts are permitted on the golf course with approval by the Pro Shop (based on golf cart appearance). If approved, a trail fee must be paid to the Pro Shop before the start of the round. Private golf carts are subject to the same on-course and off-course restrictions as The Mook’s fleet of golf carts.

USGA Rules

***USGA rules of golf must govern play***

Some local rules are needed and accepted to promote good and sound golf practices and policies. Rules and regulations for conduct on the golf course are posted on signs near the first tee. Here is a list of common etiquette and rules:

  • Replace divots and ball marks on the greens
  • Keep up with the group in front of you
  • Golfers making the turn that decide to eat will lose their position on the golf course
  • No Fivesomes or greater allowed
  • Play holes in natural sequence; no cutting across
  • No carts allowed on all par 3’s
  • Only two players per cart!
  • Please rake all bunkers
  • No more than 4 players per group.
  • Players may be grouped together to form foursomes.
  • Electric carts – Please obey all cart signs and markings throughout the course.
  • Keep push carts and bags off tee boxes.
  • Repair ball marks, replace divots and rake all bunkers.

THE PACE OF PLAY POLICY

All groups are expected to maintain a pace of play of 4:30 (2:15 for 9 holes) or less. Groups not maintaining this pace and losing position with the group immediately in front of them may be required to pick up and resume their original position. Groups not able to maintain pace after being moved up will forfeit the balance of their round. It is the responsibility of each individual and each group to maintain this pace of play, there are no refunds or rain checks issued for any holes or portions of holes missed when the group is required by course personnel to resume. Wave faster players through only when the golf course is not busy. If the golf course is busy, you need to maintain your position with the group in front of you. The staff will govern the speed of play.

The Mook at Alderbrook promotes playing ‘Ready Golf’:

  • Choose the correct set of tees based on playing ability; make sure you play from tees that allow you to reach all holes in regulation
  • Be ready to play when it’s your turn; take multiple clubs around the greens or when away from your cart
  • Read your putt prior to your turn; do not wait to finish tap-ins
  • Always keep up with the group in front of you
  • If your group falls out of position you will have 2 holes to catch up
  • If your group remains more than 1 hole out of position after the 2 hole warning, your group may be asked to skip a hole to get back in position
  • Please let a The Mook Course staff member know if you need assistance
